Looking for a pedal that can play synth pads

Our church band has very few musicians that can play each week. I would like to be able to cover some of the space normally occupied by a keyboard playing pads. I have a POG2 pedal and have used that with great success, but I want to go a step further. I would like to trigger/ change pads with a pedal similar to the MOOG while still playing a standard low end line over the top. I think the MOOG has a little too much bottom end and would clutter the sound if mixed with my bass line. Any alternate ideas?

EHX Freeze or Super Ego with your POG or an EHX HOG with an expression pedal in freeze and gliss or freeze and volume.

The Octoverb of the Line6 M series pedals kind of sounds like a synth pad, but wouldn't be as controllable as the above goodies.

Thanks for the suggestions. I really dig the Superego Synth pedal. I really like how it lets me split the POG2 and "clean" bass signals/lines. Excellent call. Now I have to decide if I want to just add ableton and a softstep midi pedal with loops of multiple instruments, or be selfish (and far cheaper) and just buy the EHX pedal. Decisions decisions.....

so question about the super ego... when its set to latch mode does that allow you to just hit a note and then have it played as a pad while you play above it similar to what the behringer synth pedal does?

All three modes allow you to do this, but in different ways. With Latch you have to press the footswitch down when you make the sound and then it will hold that sound while you wank away. You have to double tap the FS to get out of Latch mode.

In momentary and auto you need to hold the footswitch down to wank over the top of the pad.
