lovetone ring stinger- anyone used one?

hello- saw a couple ring stingers pop up on ebay- and the (guitar) sound clips are pretty ridiculous- so my question is: anybody use/own one? clips on bass would be ideal.

this pedal could be a terrible impulse buy or a smart item to pass on- not sure. i dont care about the octave fuzz- so- for the price- it might make more sense to get a custom ring mod- but i had to ask- as that thing is seriously cool.

Yeah, it's exactly as Mark said, I built it but never got around to putting it in a housing. It sounds great for crazy noises- if that's the kind of ring modulation you like then it's golden. I like more controlled or rhythmic ring mod, so I kind of set it aside. I actually don't remember with any clarity how much low end loss there was or was not- I'll dig it out of the project drawer tonight or tomorrow and put it through the paces. I'm not set up to record clips at this time unfortunately, but I'll give as much of a verbal impression as I can.

I have used Ring stinger several times but only in studio. It is very tweakable but I would not use it in a live situation. If I remember correctly there was even a small volume drop when RS was on. Octavefuzz has a blend but IMO fuzz sounded lame without LFO/ring mod. added. It is incredible pedal for noise but I think it is much better with guitar. For playing live I would prefer Moog ring mod.

I owned one for a short time. Like the rest of the Lovetone gear the sounds were LUSH but pretty much too wild.
