Low End Loss a test question (in many parts).

Sign in to disble this ad
Just bored, and I Recorded this clip w/a dual channel drive pedal I'm testing.

http://www.grygrx.net/music/lowendloss.mp3

It's the same lick repeated twice in each mode....

Fretless -> Pedal -> DI -> Mixer -> Computer

So it goes... 2 clean, 2 Drive, 2 Drive II, 2 Drive, 2 Clean

Would you consider this pedal a good maintainer of the low end?

Hint: I was told by the guy who makes it like a year and a half ago that it wouldn't be a good bass pedal. I believe David Wilson was told the same thing a year before that.

My sub kept working MORE as you added drive, on both samples. Always a good sign

It sounds pretty decent to me. Not sure I like it, but it sounds like almost all the lowend is still there.

I can't listen here but I could tell you within 5 seconds if it was an Openhaus or not

Jury, still out. I like to sit on things for a bit, and then make those kinds of decisions.

Beside looking like a sister to the Blackstone in aesthetics, do we have any reviews on here about it? There's some mention in Toasted's Halophase review, but only enough to whet my appetite.

PS: Any updates on whether the Blackstone is a keeper for bass yet?
