Low Pass Filter Under 100?

Sign in to disble this ad
Are there any decent LPF under $100? All I need is a cutoff control that can go down around 50HZ and keep a clean sound. The Boss GEB-7 is the only thing I can find that gets close to that. Is there anything Better?

You may want to post this in the Amps and/or Live Sound forums.

I read the title and was going to suggest the Alesis Philtre, but it sounds like you want a crossover for PA subs or something? I can't imagine what other use a 50Hz LPF would be...

Well, I actually am looking for a cheaper version of the Moog LPF. I don't need the the envelope section I don't need expression pedal controls, I just need a LPF that can run the range cut off frequencies and go to around 50hz. I am blending in my signal with an OC2 for a d'n'b Sub Bass sound.

You could make one, a resistor and a cap - a simple, effective LPF.

Hmm. I'm no expert but I think filtering out everything about 50hz will result in **** all output from most notes played on a bass guitar.

Yeah, I am not saying I want to filter it down to 50hz I just want to make sure it goes down far enough to achieve the desired effect. I run my fooger filter a little below 9 o'clock which I think is around 70-90 hz and with the oc2 it sound pretty good. The moog goes down to 20hz, but over course I never run it that low.
Tough crowd tonight.

Sorry I wasn't trying to be an arse about it, I just think shooting for 50hz seems a bit unnecessary.

One pedal you might want to look at is the BYOC 440 filter clone with the bass mod components in place. It's quite a deep-voiced filter, and the BYOC box has a switchable "static" setting and a third knob to set the cut-off exactly where you want it in that setting.

I don't know what the range of that knob is in terms of exact frequencies but it's cheap so it should be worth a shot. I've got one here but I can't really experiment with it at 2:42 in the morning.
