ls-2 experts - will it work?

Sign in to disble this ad
I need a solution for the following:

- small footprint
- can be powered by batteries or voodoo lab pp2+
- works as an instrument selector (2 basses on 1 output) with level control
- can blend 2 pickups: normal output of bass + ext. piezo

will the boss ls-2 work? I kind of need this thing very quickly (today) for the upcoming gigs or in 2 weeks ; )
the ls-2 is readily available.. but I am open to other (cheap) options...

thanks!

edit:
the input has to work well with this:
Max. output level: 0 dBV +/- 1 dB @ k < 1% and Ubat = 9 V
Output impedance: typ. 200 ohm unbalanced
Gain MIC: 0 dB +/- 1 dB
Gain LINE: 40 dB +/- 2 dB

Hi, The ls-2 can do all of the above. Last year I used a boss Ls-2 to quickly switch between upright and electric bass for a theater tour that we did. Worked very well, the level controls made it possible to even out volume issues. However, sometimes I had issues with knobs having twisted, so that suddenly another function was selected, or the volume settings would not be correct anymore. Since we have a backline crew and I only get to the stage 15 minutes prior to the show, I found this annoying (I do not have the time to check whether the knobs are set right), and have since then switched to the much more expensive Lehle switch, which has recessed knobs for gain adjustment and is a little more sturdy for use on the road.

Apart from this minor issue, the boss ls-2 is brilliant, and I notice no difference in sound between the lehle and the ls-2.

So, in short, a swiss knife kind of pedal.

Cheers,

Jasper

it'll do what you want, boss's most useful pedal in my opinion.
