how do the sounds in the m9/m13 compare tone wise to the individual counterparts like mm4, dl4, fm4...
for some reason when i tried the m13 in the store it didn't seem as full of a sound when compared to the original models.
has anyone done a side by side comparison to test this out

In my opinion, from the clips I've listened to, the effects sound cleaner and more full than the FM4. The synths in particular. One that stood out, it sounded like the Growler model in the FM4. Not sure what it's called in the M series pedal.

But I didn't do a side-by-side comparison. Different basses, different rooms, different amps. |

I didn't have an M9 right beside it (I've used one some what extensively), but from memory the DL4 sounded a bit better to me. I guess I'll have to do a side by side comparison. I hate to use this terminology but the DL4 sounded "warmer" to me.
I should mention that I tried the DL4 at home where I practice with the same gear I've used the M9 with. |

-M13 tracks better for the filter effects.
-M13 us about the same, sound-wise, as the DL4
-Verbzilla is about same sound quality, but has more options for saving sounds with the M13.
- A huge advantage, feature-wise, when comparing the M-series to the individual pedals, is that for the Delay Time and Speed controls on most effects can be set to a rhythmic pattern (i like triplet delays) that is synched up to the tap tempo.
-my DL4 would often not work for months at a time (usually when i needed it most, like when entering the studio). the DL4, and other 4 button pedals are notoriously unroadworthy. The M-series are rock-solid. |

I had a DM4 and I thought the drives on the M13 were much better.
The M13 certainly doesn't sound thin.
