Machine that lets you loop live?

I'm watching this Doug Wimbish video.

He hits some pedal, and plays a pattern on bass. Then it loops. And he plays on top of it. It keeps recording.

Essentially, he records a 8-part bass part live in one sitting. It's incredible.

This may be the same pedal that one-man guitar acts play with live. They play the intro pattern once, then it loops.

What pedal is this? thanks!

Boss RC-2, Boss RC-20, Boss RC-50, Digitech Jamman.

I personally like the Jam man, but the RC-2 will get the job done.

Just for the record Doug use a Lexicon Jamman and a Line 6 DL-4

The EHX SMM/H also loops as does the EHX 2880

I recently had the opportunity to spend a few weeks with a prototype of the Boomerang III and I have to say it is VERY cool. Although you still cannot save loops (which I dig), the functionality is so much greater than the old 'rang and thew sound quality is nothing short of wonderful.
