I've seen them on ebay for a lot less than $300. The schematic is out there, though Maestro schematics aren't always known for their accuracy.

I thought the Shin-ei octave box was a Maestro clone.

Personally, I'd love a Maestro Sample & Hold. I believe my Robotalk is based on it, but I'd love to hear the filter on the original too. I'd also love a Maestro Ring Mod.

And of course, one of my favorite phaser tones is the watery tone JPJ gets feeding the Fender Rhodes through the Maestro Phaser.

The Maestro line was owned by Gibson I believe. If they still have the rights to the names, I'm surprised that reissues haven't been made.
