I agree with this. Even an amazing bass player isn't going to have the tone to cut through a mix in a band situation using this kind of equipment.
I read that you had mentioned "round" tone. You should consider investing in something like a Fender Precision using flatwound strings (that gives you the standard round tone), and if you don't want vintage tone, consider investing in a modern amp with at least 300 watts of power and a speaker cab with at least a 1x15 or 4x10. No pedal is going to help you out with your current setup, unless you play at mid-volume and mic up the amp to a PA and blast your channel.
