Malekko E616 owners, please read

Dear valued Malekko customer

It has come to my attention that I have made a mistake on the build of materials regarding our new E616. This error results in a hotter than normal input to the compandor IC, causing more than “normal” distortion in the repeats of our delay.

Although somewhat embarrassing to admit, I must not only admit my mistake but rectify it. If you are one of the folks that got one of the first E616’s (meaning you have them in your possession), I will mod said pedal free of charge.

All pedals shipping after 10/27/09 will already reflect this mod.

With that being said, it is an analog delay and like all other analog delays in this planet, there will be an amount of distortion in the repeats…just not as much!

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience. This pedal has been a long and humbling journey but I think you will be quite pleased with its final outcome.

If you or someone you know is handy with an Iron, it will take about 20 seconds to tack on 2 resistors..you dont have to remove anything...just tack one on top of the existing resistor

I wish I knew. I'll send it back, I guess. You still have something for me, so posting to me one more time will be easier.

You know..Malekko should pay ALL the costs associated with this "recall." It's great they were upfront on this. But, everyone - especially these overseas buyers - should receive refunds for any custom duties, taxes, postage, etc. they incur. You should accept no less.

I'd be keeping mine stock and flogging it later as "Original 'Dirty Repeats' Malekko Ekko 616 *NOT MODDED*" for six bajillion dollars.

There goes that typical British mindset again...

I would do that as well .

Irvinz sure answered that...As usual, it's the MO of the Kool-Aid drinkers/fanboys.

Way to be the bigger man.

In any case, fessing up to the mistake and offering to fix it is way more than most companies would do. I'll be needing a Malekko pedal very soon, I think.

Hey man, while Irvinz' 'troll' comment may have been lacking a little tact, he has every right to question if a new member is being a jerk (not saying that you are), especially when their post contains aspects that could very easily be construed as subtly rude. Irvinz is a stand-up chap that I will vouch for personally, and to respond by making assumptions about him based off of one post, then to make generalizations about the members of this forum and insult certain individuals by referring to them as kool-aid drinkers and fanboys is uncalled for and rude. Disagree if you wish, but do so without insulting the members of the forum you would otherwise be warmly welcomed into.
