Malekko Spring Chicken (Reverb)

Sign in to disble this ad
From Malekko's site:

SPRING CHICKEN

Since the dawn of time, musicians have tried to cram a giant spring reverb in a little tiny enclosure. We bitches at Malekko have worked tirelessly like watchmakers for many years on this project alone-- spiraling springs into enclosures only to have them pop out like a peanut can full of snakes... There's got to be a better way!

Introducing the Malekko Spring Chicken. This little buddy is a VERY nice sounding spring reverb emulator, and although we didn't invent this IC, we sure made it sound fantastic! This is one of those pedals that's hard to stop playing with-- Every time I engage this reverb it puts a smile on my face!

Simple to use (one knob) and operates on either a 9vDC neg tip PS or a
9v battery

Available through our fine retailers and direct mid/late March
$150.00
Clips coming soon

I'll have to try it. I've always been a sucker for spring reverbs, and while a huge part of their charm comes from the physical eccentricities that cannot be modeled, they come with lots of annoyances too. Anyway I don't have a real point other than I'd hit the Chicken.

Spring Chicken is spring reverb emulator. I remember from other thread, that Malekko is going to introduce reverb with real spring later this year.

I think the description indicates that they gave up on that project, and we get the chicken instead...

In the holy errectus thread Toasted said that Malekko will be releasing a bigger version in a B:Assmaster enclosure with a real spring, but not for a bit longer, you might be betttet off waiting.

Spring reverb tanks give me crazy gas.
If they do the big spring reverb my wallet will be angry.

When you're underwater, everything is opposite. She is right-handed and that is actually what they call a bass...

Wow, this is getting OT.

So, back on topic...Malekko changed "CHAMBER" to "cluck". Much better. I wonder how this new unit will hold onto the bass. The EHX Holy Grail units tend to pull the bass off a liiiiittle bit.

Josh - bass? confirm - deny?

Hopefully seen as josh knows there is a lot of bassists watching what he is releasing he will make sure it keeps bass
