I think he uses some fuzz in near the end just a little bit. I remember reading a long time ago that he was using a Boss Fuzz pedal. Not sure if that's what he's still using but worth looking into.

Oh! That's a synth, not Marcus Miller. I've seen him with two keyboardists live and he has a lot of keyboard going on in some of his stuff.

Damn. Should have known that, but I've never really understood what the hell a synthesizer actually does.
