What's everyones opinion on this pedal? I know the demo on YouTube isn't great, but it seems that you could get some really good tones.

i had it for a quite short time, about a week, before sending it back. It wasnt my cup of tea, sounded muffled to me and i wasnt able to dial in a good tone with all the options.

What was a nice feature is the possibility to choose the frequency range for which the distortion was applied.

i am curently using the newer bass tube marker as my full on drive sound - it sits really well in all of the bands a play in (sabbath trib, rock covers, p &w, party band) and has a much more open character to the drive.
Well worth a try

How much is that pedal? I couldn't find it on gc or mf web site. How does to tone knob affect the sound?

i got mine for £110 ( around $150-160?)
Markbass Tube Marker - FREE DELIVERY
Markbass - Bass Tube Marker

the tone seems to be like the tone control on my passive basses - ie a HF rolloff

Here's a link to a demo video of it. The BTM is at the end of the video.

I had one for a few months. I liked it...but...I prefer just a little bit of grit and the ability to dial in some clean tone. In the end I sold it here on TB. I had a hard time doing the light overdrive thing with it, it went from 0 to 60 real quick. I loved the options it comes with on paper, but it just didnt work out for me. Now I have a Pork Loin I got used but mint for half the price that I like much better. YMMV.

I'd like to sell my Distorsore if you want to try it. I goes fairly unused since I'm playing in an oldies band and in church at the moment

Yea, go check out Markbass site, they added a lot of goodies. A stereo pre amp pedal, octave pedal, stereo power amp and more. And the interesting thing about the new Tube Marker is that it's the size of a normal pedal and runs on 9v. It doesn't have a 'blend' but depending on how it deals with the tone, that might not be necessary?

the tone is clear and open.
IMO and IME it doesn't need a blend to retain lows - and i've passed over a LOT of drive boxes because they dropped low end in my rig ( Pork loin, Multidrive, Agro, T21 Oxford, Bad Monkey, TOD..................)

crapusername, that's exactly what I was hoping to hear. i've been jumping all over this forum in search of a new OD and its been getting really confusing. I just started looking at the Distorsore, but the size and the 12v thing was an issue with me. Then last night I was studying it and went to the Markbass site and noticed the 'new' Tube Marker and searched around, but there isn't much online about it other than the stock writeup and a poor audio quality demo at a trade show.

Think I gonna get it. They don't have these at my local GC, they have a very limited selection of bass pedals in stock. They have the Markbass Comp and the super boost, but that's about it. So, that makes trying one before buying a little difficult.
