Markbass pedals Powersupply question

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all.

I have the synth and the comp from markbass. On their site they say that they need +12V and 550mA.

Would like to run them of some kind of Universal power supply like the Burkey or the vodoo lab. But neither of the can deliver 550mA.
Do you have any suggestions?

Right now I'm actually daisychaining the two pedals of one markbass supply. I don't even know if that one delivers enough, but they work :-) I'm not shure if there's any difference in sound because i do it like this.

The one Markbass supply has enough available current for two pedals, so that's fine. As far as other supplies go, the "best" option I've found is not actually available for sale yet: Godlyke makes a combination charge pump (voltage increaser) and outlet isolator; it will allow you to take advantage of the high current available from Godlyke, Onespot, and similar supplies, and give you an isolated outlet off the daisy chain, with switchable voltage levels. For two MB pedals, you'd need two of these gadgets (and one daisy chain supply).

I've been "ready to buy" a couple of them for several months now, and the release date keeps getting shoved back.

That godlyke solution looks cool. Would you set the charge pump to 12 0r 18 for the markbass? If it ever gets released that is ;-)
By the way. I have to say that you called it right with that markbass comp. It sounds amazing. And lots of control.
