I haven't had time to really work with it all that much, but so far IT SUCKS. It rolls off so much of the lows that I'm surprised even guitarists would use it. It's maybe good for a piccolo player, and I don't mean piccolo bass! Also the output level is significantly lower than unity even with the level knob maxed. I replaced the input cap with a .47uF, and there was no improvement in the lows, so the rolloff is somewhere else in the circuit, I don't know where yet.
Ignoring the lost lows and the low output level, the actual compression action and noise level are pretty decent. But unless I can figure out a simple mod for better low end, I will be writing up a negative review of this pedal. Oh well! |

Mine has little or no effect on the tone outwith what you set the tone knob to i.e. an emphasis, and the output level is at unity at around the 9 o'clock mark, giving quite a large boost.
I use it almost constantly and am extremely pleased with it. |

I wonder if mine came from the same Bizarro planet as the Punch Factory, Rocktron Big Crush, EHX Black Finger, and other comps that barely functioned for me yet that work perfectly for other people. |

I tried adjusting pre and post gain, compression, you name it. The noise was constant. I can only guess what made that finger black... |

| | | | Thank you. But does it work well with low frequencies or it is just a guitar pedal ? |
