Marshall Guv'nor GV-2 vs. original?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey fellow TB'ers, i was thinking. I know i've been wanting another Guv'nor for a while now since i sold mine quite some time ago. But, i don't know what i should do. I've been saving up for a new amp recently, but my band doesn't have a drummer yet so i can deal without one for now. But, i don't know if i should spend 80 or less dollars on a GV-2, or blow most of my money i have saved on the side for an original guv'nor? What do you guys think? Would it be worth it? I'd like to know you're opinions, and how they sound/ perform compared to each other. Thanks guys! .....

v.s.

I have the original one and it is really nice, one of the pedals i will never sell. It gives a really cool distortion, and I managed to pick mine up for only about £35-40

:0 Wow! That's pretty cheap! When did you get it? And is it that "throaty" kind of tone like a JCM 800?

You know what? I think i'm going to go all out and take the thing while i can. It's an original in mint condition :0

Because considering i live in R.I, and we don't have any talented drummers here that would fit with my band, i might as well get the boutique pedal before i get an amp that will sit around for a few years until it gets use
