I'm trying to figure out some good OD/Distortion/Fuzz boxes to pickup, and I'd like something like what's used in this:

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm...ndID=326730096

the 2nd song, Two Tabs of Mescaline.

The tone is real edgy and fuzzed out but doesn't lose clarity of the attack or the changes of notes. I've already got a Fulltone Bassdrive and I'm looking for something a little heavier. Maybe an old Russian Big Muff, MXR Blowtorch, or Wooly Mammoth? Any suggestions?

I'd call that a Boss TU-2, a Morley Wah, a Fulltone Bass-Drive (looks like the second version), and a Boss OC-2 (looks brown with what looks to be 3 knobs).

I think the Boss is an OC-2. Paint looks brown to me, and I think it's only got three knobs. I can't really make out what the two-footswitch jobber is.

That's not the bassist that played on that album, though.

I think I recall hearing that it was a PJ Bass into a BDDI into an SVT on that recording, and on the really heavy bits he uses some kind of Big Muff.

Awesome song by the way, can't wait for their new album.

The bassist on that album is guy called David Allen he uses Fender P/J OC-2, Big Muff, BDDI into SVT/Fridge.
Manuel Carrero is now in Saves The Day, which is prob where that photo is from and I recently read that Bass drive pedal is his main OD unit. He used a Rat on Glassjaaws first album.
