Maxon CP9Pro+ Issue??

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys, hoping one of you has an answer...

I just purchased this compressor from a Talkbass gentleman. Twice now I've turned it on (with a brand new battery in use for no more than a couple of hours) & it was really quite / semi distorted sounding. The first time I replaced the battery with a new one. After about 5 hours I turned it off & then back on & it did the same thing. This time I unconnected & reconnected the Battery & now it's fine. Any clues as to what the issue may be? I'll be fairly upset if this is not a normal ? even heard of issue.

Best, -Bohn

Use a regulated power supply, instead of a battery?

I haven't heard of this issue before. FWIW, the "charge pump" inside that raises the voltage to 18V internally will use up batteries more quickly than a regular 9V pedal.

Cool, thanks for the info. It uses the up FAST! Less than a day.

I'm getting the Voodoo Labs PP2+ in a few days so I guess that will be the answer. If it still does it, well then I'll know i has issues.

Thanks guys, -John
