I went a did a search. I found nothing that was really helpful. http://www.maxonfx.com/9/cs9/
Anybody have any thoughts or experience with this one? I'm starting to look into getting a better chorus pedal. This is the only one I'm looking at that I haven't heard about.
Thanks!

I used to have one but traded it with a guitar player pal.

Its one of the best pedals I've heard, but I almost never see them on anyone's pedal board. Are there others choruses that sound that much better, or are they rare due to the price (I got mine cheap used and it was still expensive).

If I added up all the money I wasted on all the previous chorus pedals I've owned, I could've bought several Maxon's. Truly lush, analog, and can be tweaked so many ways, I'm also surprised more people aren't using it.

i powered it using a 9V adaptor, instead of the supplied maxon 10V adaptor because of voltage differences. I don't know if 1V makes a great deal of difference, but i felt that it could do with a tiny little bit of extra headroom.
i recently sold it to a local jazz player who told me it was "ridiculously good". now i'm waiting for the cs-9 to come in the mail.
the cs-9 works on a 9V battery, but that's like 2 hours continuous use on a manganese battery? rubbish. i will keep mine connected to a daisy chain. |

I get the same thing from the CS9 pro you got from the CS550; I can run it all the way up to 100% wet and have a perfectly wonderful sound, although I usually run t around 12 o'clock.
I was tinkering with the knobs on the pedal last night and came to the conclusion it sounds great on any setting. With the delay time that most analog chorus pedals lack you can get some wacky effects by diming all the knobs.

I would like to find a great single pedal space 9v chorus (like the size of the CS9-Pro), but have yet to hit on one that I've fallen in love with (and I've been through a bunch)...but I haven't tried the CS9-Pro...I want one I can run off a Voodoo Lab or Fuel Tank PS...
Right now, I'm using the TC Electronic SCF, and love it, but it's AC and larger than a single space pedal... |

That was always my biggest complaint with many other chorus pedals, that annoying hiss. To my ears, the CS9Pro is the best all around chorus, ever.

It doesn't bother me, but I see how this could be a problem. I haven't opened it up, is there a trimpot to adjust output volume?

I haven't looked for a trimpot because it's just not that big of an issue to me. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
