Maybe I need to a digital delay, instead

The config used this past weekend:
fretless bass -> Tuner -> Growler (<->Flanger) -> Ekko 616 -> MXR EQ -> GK Backline 210

I tend to keep my tone knob around 2 or 3 for normal playing, 8 to 9 for the punchier songs.

I noticed that with the Growler active, when I turned on the Ekko 616 for a bit of slap, my signal clipped and I got some unwanted distortion. Turned the Ekko off, no clipping.

Either my Growler settings aren't playing nice with the Ekko, or the addition of the Ekko is sending the output signal into a tizzy. Either way, it looks like either need a delay with a higher headroom factor, or go digital.

Has anyone else experienced something like this?
