Menatone Mail Bomb Filter? Thoughts or opinions?

Sign in to disble this ad
Has anyone personally tried the new re-issued line of Menatone pedals? (specifically the mail bomb envelope filter?)

I'd love to hear sound samples, thoughts, opinions, etc.

Many Thanks.

Meh. I tried it long ago when you could actually find them. Compared it to the Discombobulator. THe Emma pedal won hands down.

For the money you spend on the mailbomb you can get much better filter pedals.

Don't know about the early 3-knob version, but here's a bass demo of the new 4-knob one:

Sounds pretty greasy/sleazy/funky to me, especially since he obviously has the Attack set for a slower sweep. He even A/B's it with a Maxon AF-9; I like the sound of the Mail Bomb better in the video. I love being able to control the attack of a filter.

Plan on a couple hours of intense questioning if you fly with that on your pedalboard...

Yep...not the best name to have post-9/11. And if you ship it to someone, DO NOT put the pedal's name on the box!
