Not sure if this is the right place,i think i saw a similar thread here but..my EHX metal muff(top boost) just stopped working, the LEDs became somehow dimmed and there is no sound.i belive it might be the fact it was on 24/7 since i bought it,plugged on an adapter.i will attempt to fix it myself, so if anyone has some experience with this, which components might be fried and so on..thanks alot

Unfortunately, being plugged in 24/7 doesn't really mean much of anything unless you had the pedal ON 24/7. Even then, dim LEDs and the lack of sound could indicate a number of different problems... it's hard to say what specifically went wrong.

Also, you're going to be dealing with SMD components in there - not something for the inexperienced. Chances are you don't have anything precise enough to get those tiny parts on or off the board with ease.

My advice: contact EHX customer service. They can fix it if it's still under warranty, and if it's not, their repair service is really cheap.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but those Metal Muffs are very pron to breaking for whatever reason. I had a buddy of mine who went through three of them within two months, no joke. Each broke on their own all with different symptoms. I also spend a lot of time with the accessories guy at my local GC who I trust very heavily. He agrees with me that they get brought back a lot with defects. I think EHX needs to fix their board-mount machines or something.... good luck with your repair!

hmm.. mine served me well for almost 2 years, until today..

anyway.. i was just wondering if all the components are replaceable(available),for example are the IC-s ,transistors and such made by national semiconductors, motorola and so on,something i can buy in the local electronic shop,or are they something specially made EHX
