How is this overdrive on bass? Does it retain the low end? |

Overall there are alot of sounds in that pedal, both low gain and high gain but nothing I'd class as over medium gain distortion so it's pretty much an overdrive.
Tonally it's quite transparent and touch sensitive with no low end loss if you choose as you can also make it really thin and tinny with the controls.
But in the end it didn't really impress me that much or Toasted and it sounded quite run of the mill to me, don't get me wrong tonally there is no reason to call it a bad pedal but I feel it's just lacking that WOW factor.
Hope this helps

I heard your clips, very nice.
I'm looking for that almost clean tone, with just a hair of od for bite.
I think I'll give it a try.

I think I'll give it a try. | You should get a Barber LTD, SR is probably the best

Ultimately, I wanted something a little different.

Ultimately, I wanted something a little different. | Thanks for this comment. If my incoming pedal doesn't work out than I'll give it a try. I'd like to try the Barber SR as well but the space on my board is getting very tight. I'd prefer something the size of the MI.

I'd still love to hear the MI Audio Blues Boy Deluxe eventually but I'm not left wanting at all at this point. I've found the perfect overdrive for me. If you guys want an amazing overdrive than be sure to check the Analogman modded Ibanez out for sure. |

I'd suggest the BB Deluxe any day.It takes some time to understand just how the knobs all work, but it's well worth the small amount of effort.....this doesn't mean I'm not going to continue to look for other overdrives, but it does mean that the BB Deluxe is one of the best ones that I've found. When I have a bit more money I fully intend to get the Analogman TS9DX again, but this time with the silver mod.
The only real problem with the BB Deluxe is that I can see owning two, one for full on overdrive and one for low gain sounds.
Oh, and a cool feature of the pedal is the Character knob. When you turn it up it can get a cool compressed synth like sound. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
