| | | | micro POG into oc-2 anyone?

Ignoring the question of why, has anyone used the high octave generated by a micro POG to trigger the sub octave(1) of an oc-2? [ie. to produce an oc-2 tone on the note played] Anyone know if it tracks well? How about on a low b string? |

There's a bit of difference in the tone of the OC-2 (which I didn't really expect) but the biggest issue is that it simply doesn't track as well as normal, at least in my goofing around.
Also, if you blend in any clean tone along with the octave up it glitches out pretty badly. |

I want the ability to produce this tone without sacrificing the range of my 5 string.
Hmm i may have to suck it up and get an m.pog. pretty expensive, at least in england.
So with octave up soloed (m.pog) into octave down soloed (oc-2), it gets glitchy? Any ideas what causes the glitches? the tone of the pog perhaps? i gather the pog produces a pretty metallic/digital sound. and if you use bridge pickups with the oc-2 it glitches due to the sharp tone, presumably. so if the tone could be somehow dulled down with the pog it might track better... run it through a cheap eq perhaps?? .. long... |

I've used my Oc-2 into the Octave-up of my Micro-Synth. It sounded okay, but not special enough to make me want to keep the micro-synth on my board. I have never tried it the other way around.
I didn't have too much problem with tracking, but I would imagine the 'glitchyness' is due to the signal having to be tracked twice by the two separate pedals.

| | | | thanks for the responses guys, appreciate it!
M Sterling- i already have a source audio BEF pro- Its great, and can achieve a massive amount of sounds, but nothing quite like as the oc-2. in fact, i am currently running the oc-2 into it and it sounds superb. I have heard some clips of the xerograph, but nothing that sounds like an oc-2 to my ears. I have actually been in touch with Taylor from Iron Ether, he pointed me in the direction of an old TB thread where he explains exactly what goes on inside an oc-2 and its pretty unique! |
