Micro Pog Issue

Sign in to disble this ad
I was playing a show last night and i turned my micro pog on and in kept switching on and off while i was playing and making a popping noise when it came on and off. I run it though a pp2 so its not a batt. It did it once before at the house but stopped. Anyone else had this problem? And maybe an answer if so?

I'm not sure, but I will say, I've had a few recent Ehx pedals go "bad" on me. When they work, they're greatness, but QC seems a bit off in recent years. For reference, I've owned 17 Ehx pedals, and 3 went bad.

Played a gig once where mine went nutz ...

Turns out it was low voltage from the wall,
we had issues at this place before, and mine
runs off a Voodoo Lab PPL also. Hope it's something
that simple in your case.

I have used one for around 11 months now and I play 2 four hour gigs a week.I started getting a random high pitched digital worbal sound about 3 months ago.I ran through all my cables and tried to find anything that could cause it and it is def. internal.I also use a Pedal power 2 and a Monster 2500 power conditioner so it's not voltage. It is so random ( happens one or twice every third or forth show) that I haven't taken the time to send it in.I know it's not the same prob. you are having but thought I would share other issues with the same pedal. All that said still a great sounding pedal.

Are there any unused power cables just hanging out connected to the pp2? One day I was just screwing around w/ my effects and didn't hook all of them up, but had an extra cable that wasn't plugged up. It kept hitting the die-cast box of my Micro POG and arcing whenever it touched, causing it to short out.

I don't like these current aluminium-boxed EHX pedals myself. It might be an entirely psychological thing due to them being lighter than the steel pedals they replaced, but to me they feel a bit cheap and flimsy.

Just for general information, power filters like the Monster 2500 power conditioner mentioned above do not regulate voltage, they only filter out some noise and transients. If the line voltage is low, they won't boost it up.

The main issue I had with the Micro Pog I had was that I could never get it to work consistently when not using a walwart. Anytime I hahve tried to run them by say a PP2 I have had issues. Cutting in and out, not working at all, weird noises etc. etc.

Otherwise the pedal would be on my board right now.

You know what it sounds like. If you have ever seen the movie Aliens, it sounds like the movement tracker they use when they are looking for people. Like a thump thump sound. I like this pedal alot it better not take a crap on me.
