Micro POG Power Questions

Sign in to disble this ad
I just purchased a Micro POG on Saturday at Sam Ash in Ft. Lauderdale. The salesperson stated that I could use my Voodoo Labs II to power the pedal.

When I opened up the box at home, I noticed that the power supply wasn't anything Electro Harmonics written on it. The power supply that I received was labled as a 9 volt "Substitute for Boss or Ibanez." Also, the EH literature that came with the Micro POG stated that only the EH power supply should be used with this effect.

Questions:

1. Did I get the correct wall wart power supply?
2. If not, then can any 9 volt power supply be used (off lable) for this device?
3. Can I use my Voodoo Labs power supply to power up this pedal safely?

I hope I got the stock power supply. I was at a meeting in Ft. Lauderdale when I purchased this effect. I'd have to drive 90 minutes each way to go back and change it for the right one.

Thanks

The power supply that came along with it is the original one since they come with every EHX pedal.
I power my Micro POG with a 1-spot, so I guess you Voodoo Labs will work just fine!

I've used both 1spot and PP2+. You'll be fine.

Make sure whatever power supply you use can supply the proper mA for the Micro POG. When I first got mine I plugged it into one of the 100mA outlets on my BBESupaCharger and the MicroPOG would constantly turn on and off while engaged. I thought it was broken until I plugged it into one of the 200mA outlets and everything was good.

I contacted Voodoo Labs with this exact question and they said to run it in output 5 or 6. Also I checked my adapter as I bought my uPog new and it says the same as yours.
Hope that helps.

This. If your power supply isn't providing at least 200mA to the MicroPOG, you will probably have problems.

if you have the PPII, you're out of luck (ask me how i know )

if you have the PPII+, you're good as long as you use 5 or 6, switch set to "normal".

Crap! I don't know which Voodoo Labs I have. 2 or 2+??? I'll have to look at it when I get home tonight. I bought it about 2004 or 2005. I was hoping to use the VDL2 to power the microPOG to save an outlet space in my pedalboard I'm building.

We'll see what happens.... BTW Walter: How do you know?

Thanks again, guys!
