Hey everybody,
I have a few Moogerfoogers and I was wondering if u guys had any suggestions on a set sequence for the chain or any recommendations as far ad patches go. I have the FreqBox, the Phaser, the Low Pass Filter, and the Ring Mod.
Thanks in advance for your input! |

Someone else will second this; try different arrangement and see what sticks. That's one of the coolest thigns about these boxes....
First thing tomorrow i'm goin to play ma moogers....

Freqbox -> Ring Mod -> Filter
Patch the "LFO out" on the ring mod to the Cutoff jack on the filter. Then plug an expression pedal into the Rate jack on the Ring Mod.
Set the Freqbox to be whatever waveform pleases you with the mix all the way up (or at least most of the way up), have the ring mod set with the mix down quite a bit, so that it's just a subtle ring mod tone to make the sound more synth-like. High resonance and no envelope on the filter. By sweeping the rate of the LFO up and down with the expression pedal, voila -- dubstep bass line. |

| | | I've never had the distinct pleasure of chaining multiple Moogerfoogers ( would love to )
I have a BassMurf that i use in conjunction with a Morley Wah and Digitech Whammy .
I really would love to try the freq box.
Here's some BassMurf : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ti_XkP3sbhM |

Give us some clips when you get everything hooked together the way you like!

For example you could hook the envelope out jack from the freqbox or LPF to the phaser and get envelope phasing, or plug the LFO output from the ring mod into the cutoff frequency of the filter. Once you figure out what the jacks do you will see lots of possibilities. |

| | | | Thanks for the comments - I definitely have to try that dubstep tone! I already have my foogers set up in a chain that I like for everyday use, but I wanted additional input on patches and chains that produce tones that I'm not familiar with. Right now I run the freqbox>low pass filter> phaser> ring mod and get really nice sounds from it. As far as patches go, I usually use the LFO from the ring mod to control the LPF parameters - usually adds a nice rhythm of beeps and boops to that "wet" filter sound. I've just bought some new patch cables, so I'll keep ya guys posted with new patches if I can be torn away from my rig.
How does everyone like the MuRF? Is the included software useful in designing new sounds? |

Like you could modulate one LFO with another and then modulate that one with one of the envelope outputs. Put that into the Freqbox waveform input (or ringmod frequency for bonus points). It kind of depends on what you're going for and if you need your setup to work well for most stuff with minimal reconfiguration or are trying to make crazy sounds in the studio. |

The software doesn't so much give you 'new' sounds, instead it gives you the ability to create your own patterns, and fine tune some of the parameters. It's a great pedal, definitely recommended. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
