Moog Delay discontinued.

According to the Moog's site, they estimate around 200 or so are left for purchase worldwide. So, if you've been gassing for one really hard, now's the time. Used price is about to explode.

I don't know, what with the popularity of the Strymon and a few other much smaller delays, I don't see a cult demand for the Moog and used-price explosion happening. The delay was never one of their more exciting designs. Still, interesting to know they discontinued it.

does that mean blowout pricing at musiciansfriend?

edit: well, they are 699 at mf, and like bongo said, whith the el capistan delay as well as the other awesome, feature-packed delays that came out recently, I can't imagine anyone smart actually paying a boatload for it

probably discontinued because it was priced REALLY high, and other analog delays have come out, with newer features, that fit folks' stompbox needs better.

I'd still LOVE to mess with a Moogerfooger delay - but only in conjunction with a bunch of other moogerfoogers. and a synth with tons of CV i/o. As a piece of modular synth gear, I still suspect it may be one of the best delays available.

I really like the MF-104Z Delay.
For real time tweaking it's fantastic with all of the C.V controls and the Ext Feedback Loop option.
It's a pity that the first delay repeat is always clean when sending the Feedback through the External Loop.
The Bypass on Moogerfoogers really irritates some people, but I'm not too fussed about that to be honest.
I'd certainly recommend it if you can afford it, irregardless of whether or not it's second hand price goes up because it is now discontinued.

I saw this on Moog's FB profile,...while never playing their Delay I image it's the least popular of the MoogerFoogers as laid out in previous posts,...although Wuds description of it's tweekablity has certainly piqued my interest.

What's not to love about independent Expression Pedal or C.V. Control of the Delay Time, Feedback and Mix?
As well as separate audio outputs for the Mix out and Delay only out, plus the (mono) feedback loop option for switching between the normal internal feedback loop, or sending the feedback out/thru and back in via another effect pedal.
It is very expensive, and you will obviously get a lot more options out of something like the Strymon, but I do love the 104z when used in conjunction with other Foogers and semi modular synths etc.

how does the capistan compete with it? the moog is all analog, the capistan is digital. completely different.

with this going bye bye and the diamond memory lane, i have a feeling the pedal people will be without a feature packed all analog over 500ms delay.
