If you look at the TIP Third Hand then I won't need to explain anything

Yeah, I can't really think of many envelope filters with expression pedals that are cheaper than the Moog, aside from the Boss AW-7. Haven't tried it in a while, but I'm going to guess that some love it and some hate it and either way it probably won't touch the Moog.

Of course I'm assuming that you use the expression pedal as a wah. Is that true?

The Third Hand always seems vaguely ridiculous to me, but I suppose it does have its uses. However, unless you find an envelope filter that does a good impression of a stuck wah, then you won't be able to use it as a wah pedal.

I have yet to see a cheap filter with expression pedal control, aside from maybe some digital modeling pedals.

I tried out that Boss Auto Wah just the other day and even though it has a separate Bass input it really sucked some low end. I think it's the worst envelope filter I've tried (not that I've tried a lot) other than a Q-tron that didn't work at all.

To me a filter with an exp. pedal is a wah! Esp. an EBS WahOne which has a low pass mode, unlike most 'normal' wahs which are band pass filters.
