Moog Phaser Bi-Phasing

Sign in to disble this ad
Reading some on the Moog forums it turns out that the Moogerfooger Phaser is capable of bi-phasing. if you have another LFO, you can use it with the moog to do bi-phasing. i really want to do this as i already have their ring mod which has an LFO as well and could combo it.

anyone try this? how's it sound?

i haven't tried it, but the moogerfooger phaser is amazing, and like any moogerfooger, is even more awesome in combination with other moogerfoogers

It sounds great, and envelope phasing with it is really nice as well, though you need the Lowpass or Freqbox for the Envelope. With a CP251 you can multiply an LFO (or envelope) and invert one, then send one of them to the Sweep and one to the Sweep In so that you have the two 6stage's moving in time and opposite ways, without much trouble lining the LFO's up.

yeah, this is why i'm getting more and more into the moog stuff. it's all so interconnected and has SO many options for versatility. it's almost endless how they can be used with one another.

adding the phaser to the GAS list.

Just a +1 pretty much. With the 'foogers and a bunch of patch cables, you can create a large portion of the analog effects available on the market. Add an MP201 to the pile and you have an analog multi-effect/modular synth with presets and tap tempo/MIDI sync, and the ability to control the lot with a bass guitar and/or keyboard at the switch of a preset and a couple cables. A CP251 is an excellent expander, allowing you to tailor the CV levels for ideal LFO or envelope modulation(ie not having to boost the LPF's input), multiply CV/exp outputs, invert LFO's and envelopes (ie downward envelope filter), blend up to 4 audio or CV signals, etc. Lots of fun, the possibilities are seemingly endless!

Do you use either a bypass loop or a blender for that stuff? I have read many comments about the Moogerfoogers' lack of bypass. Or do you incorporate it into your overall tone?

im dealing with that in the other thread but, i'm looking to get a loop to put them in and an ISP decimator to eliminate their noise.
