Moogerfooger Low Pass Filter

hello lately ive been interested in buying a used moogerfooger low pass filter

anybody know how useful it is as an envelope filter??
and if i use it with an octave pedal how would it effects the sound?

With an octaver set one octave lower (I recommend Boss OC-2) and set to 100% wet signal it would sound awesome for electronica, dnb, dub, etc (check out Janek Gwizdala's stuff with Jojo Meyer)

I really want one too, but it's so damn expensive...
I cant imagine it in a rock band context though.
