Cool more phaser questions

Sign in to disble this ad
I've been researching and researching and finding posts and came down to 2 contenders and am looking for opinions on my choices. First is a Maxon pt999 that has true bypass the type of phase I think I'm looking for by listening to you tube clips and I can get it at a reasonable price..........
Or the whirlwind orange box phaser........also true bypass and made in the USA (which still does matter to me) that I can get for about $15 more...........That also has the phase I think I'm looking for............Can anyone help me make up my mind??????? Thanks

by what youve said, it seams it comes down to the question, 'do you want to spend $15 extra for a pedal to be made in your own (im assuming) country?'
saying that, i dont really know about the pedals themselves, so am unable to sway you.

Both pedals are phase 90 clones...........the Whirlwind is from a guy who started MXR and the Maxon is as you probably already know is the ibanez version.....Ipicked these two out of the lineup because they are both true bypass with a little more attention to detail in parts and do not have to be modded for my liking.............

correct me if i'm wrong but i believe the pt-999 is a buffered bypass. i've had one for about six years now. but could still be wrong.

You may be correct on the buffered bypass.........after a little more consideration I decided to give the whirlwind a try..........If the guy who started MXR is building them to orig. spec with true bypass. LED, and 9v adapter.........Oh yeah and I found it for about $25 less than most people are selling it for..........
