firstly its "Wah" not "Wha"

sorry, just a pet peeve of mine, either way, down to business... i believe that most morley wahs were either designed to work with guitar and bass. if im mistaken someone please correct me. morley also makes a bass specific wah, the Dual bass wah, its great, i have one and i love it. but bottom line is, it dosent matter what it sounds like as long as you like it. so i would say give the wah you friend has a try on your bass and see what you think, and then go from there.

Morley makes a 'Bass Wah' that would naturally be better suited to the bass guitar. They sell for about $100 USD.

I found the Morley bass wah to be really weak sounding. Like a more subtle envelope filter sound, but obviously with manual control over the sweep. Didn't roar or scream with me. Just got some moderately funky, watery sounds.

i actually think the morley bass wah is a great piece of pedal. granted it may sound a tad weak with a completely clean signal [or it may just be your eq], throw some slight OD in front of this baby and she really shines. i dont particularly care for the classic wah setting on there [the on with the LED on the left off]. too me it just sounds too harsh, especially if your using any kind of dirt pedal with it. but the funk wah [LED on] sounds great, in my opinion.

The Classic mode on the Dual Bass Wah is a less harsh, bassier variant on the famous Morley Power Wah, while the Funk mode is a mid-focused wah sound with less top end than the Classic mode. Unlike most Morleys, there is a low pass filter to maintain its bass friendliness.

Both modes shine exceptionally with distortion, IME.

As for the Morley Classic Wah, I've never used one, but I have used the Morley Power Wah (current reissue). Like most Morley wahs, it has the frequency range for bass, but a wide frequency range, large sweep, and will not retain bass on the toe end. It's simply not designed for that - it's designed to sweep through the entire frequency range. I'm assuming the Classic Wah isn't too far from that, either.
