Morley or Dunlop

I have some cash laying around to finish my board, and really want a wah pedal. Manual pedal, not an autowah.

Im looking at the 105Q and the Morley Power Wah, both from the Classifieds. There is a similiar thread, but I want my own opinions.

I play funk, rock, and jazz. Funk mostly though.

I think the Dunlop is THE funk wah.

If you play mostly funk, then definitely the Dunlop. The sound is built for it, and it has a home in rock, too (as you're already aware ).

I think the Morley Power Wah has a rock/metal-appropriate sound and sweep that the Dunlop 105Q can't touch, but it's an unusual wah and not for everyone. Same with the Morley Dual Bass Wah, which is better tailored for bass but again isn't anywhere near as funky as the Dunlop.

I'm a big fan of Morley, but I wouldn't use their wahs for funk.

I haven't tried any of the Morley pedals. But I own the Dunlop 105Q, and can recommend it.

i play mostly metal & rock, i use the dunlop & i love it, whereas the morley may well be mostly aimed at rock & metal, i find that the dunlop is the better overall wah

I love the Dunlop and really like the switchless feature. It can be fine tuned via an internal trip pot so that it cuts off exactly where you want it to. Great simple pedal with tons of funk!

Haha no way. If you want to play mostly funk I would not recommend the Morley at all. It is a screaming eagle not a grooving gorilla. (I've been playing Boom Blox on Wii hence crazy animal analogies.)

Like everybody else has said, Dunlop for a funky sound, Morley if you want to sound like your stepping on Satan's Cat's tail.
