Morley Power Wah Boost...

Why does this version (old chrome model) features the effect backwards? For instance, pressing the treadle downwards gives an increased bass response whereas the heel position gives a high treble response. Any ways to remedy this?

Yes there is a piece of cloth (mirrored on one side) that reflects/blocks the light provided by your "lamp" light. This is why when that little bulb burns out your wah doesnt work anymore. Well Morley decided that it was a good thing to attach the non-treadle end (of cloth/paper thingy) to the housing with a piece of tape! When this tape gets old and dry the flap starts to gets loose and effects your effect!

Hope this helps

Isn't he talking about the response of foot up/down position and the signal? He didn't say that the pedal stopped working...

When the tape STARTS to come off it doesnt make the pedal stop working but it does effect the response/sound of your up/down motion AND/OR sound in the fully rocked forward or heel posistion

+1
Same thing happened to one of my old Morleys. The flap was hangging just low enough to let light through when my heel was down and to block light when my toe was down. Made my wah completely backwards.

Alright, so to answer the second part of my question, the way to fix this is to retape the flap? Also, I'm not a tech of any sorts on this stuff, so does anyone have any pics or a description of an exact location of this flap so I don't go digging around and tape something completely different?

Alright, almost a week later and here's what's going on. I managed to reverse the sweep to the right effect, but now the wah sounds weaker. At heel down position the wah has a distorted overdriven signal and toe down it rocking it doesn't provide much of a change in sound. Matched with distortion before and after it and I can barely tell the wah is on.

I've read around that repositioning the LDR has different effects so I played around with it and it still sounds the same. Does anyone have theirs set up in a particular way and if so how did you get the sweep stronger?
