Morley Power Wah (chrome) volume cut issue

Sign in to disble this ad
I just purchased an old chrome Morley Power Wah (PWO), sounds great except for one issue--whenever I kick it in, there is a pretty significant volume cut. I just was wondering how "normal" this is, and if there is any recourse? I only have a couple of days to return it if it's not repairable, so just curious...

One issue that it had (that could be related) is that the tape on the cardboard elements around the optical sensor had all come off--I re-applied it as best I could using masking tape over the top of the old tape. Could there be any issues resulting from my improperly fixing the optical sensor, or is there anything else I should look for?

Thank you!

I've got a PWF... so maybe I can help. Check the LDRs and make sure that there is sufficient light. I don't know how the PWO and the PWF differ, but I had to also play with the card board "hood" over the LDR.

It may also be the flap that the foot pedal.

It may also be something else entirely!

Carrot please....

Cool, thanks for the reply--the bulb inside has been having some issues as well, so perhaps the volume issue could be related to that not being bright enough? Regardless, I think I'm gonna keep this as a project to fix up, and it sounds cool enough when boosted to be able to use for recording (but not live in its current condition sadly).

Regarding a certain deal around a carrot...

Code:
             \ /
             \\ //
              )\-/(
              /e e\
             ( =Y= )
             /`-!-'\
        ____/ /___\ \
   \ / ``` ```~~"--.,_
`-._\ / `~~"--.,_
----->|                                `~~"--.,_
_.-'/ \ ~~"--.,_

Enjoy!
