They're worth what he market will bear, like Slow Gear and Vibratos. But, I don't understand the concept.

AND if you DO sell it, I expect a full review with soundclips before you do!

Not the most ridiculous, not by a long shot. That pedal is very, very rare, and in excellent condition. Today I'd think he could get $350 for it. Between 1994 and 1999 a Japanese bidder might have paid what he's asking for it.

The most ridiculous IMO is that one guy selling an EB Sabre for $45,000.

notice the 'or best offer" next to the buy it now. these dorks put stuff on all the time hoping rich idiots like myself will just go for it. sometimes we do.. but since its christmas i bet the guy needs money... put in an offer of 300 and see what happens if your interested. if no one else offers he may take it. beware instrument dealers will put in offers of 150-220$ to lowball the guy hoping he is broke and will go for it. sometimes they do. if u give the best crummy offer, u might get it. johnny a. staind

I saw your performance on leno last night staindbass. I enjoyed it. Was that a warwick streamer you were using? Couldn't tell but I liked the color of it.

There's either a great joke to be made here, or an instance of a guy who "made it" who hasn't lost his humility. Maybe both...?

Oh yeah - nice work last night!

What does the pedal do to the sound, exactly, while we're on the subject.

I't a parametric equalizer with one frequency band. And the range seems to be 500Hz to 5kHz.

There are a few pedals from this period like this, Guyatone and maxon come to mind.

there are many many more than anyone here can count ebay sellers trying to make a killing on something that is not worth it in the market, but I figured this would just be another "look at the cracksmoker" thread OR perhaps he actually DID have something that was rare enough for it to be price-warranted.

well, I'll watch it till the end, and if someone actually does buy it that has more than ZERO feedback points for crazy money, I'll be taking a trip to my guitarplayers house for sure

and John, I was in bed last night so I didn't see leno, but missing one performance does not detract from being a fan of the band.

I just shake my head in disbelief.

1. its just a pedal.

2. its not vintage...its only old and discontinued. An " I like Ike" pin is vintage.

3. Its boss.....

so heres my guess...you look inside and youll see the mystical jrc 4558, maybe. It may just be a tl072 or 2. Youll most likely see the green caps that you can still get. replace it with even a opa 2604 and it will sound better. I have a japanese bf-2 with the black and orange knobs...oooooh, big friggin whoop.

for something my amp doesnt do, or a truly unique (sp?) pedal I cannot get as a remake or clone, I may pay a few bucks, but 650. There is no justification.

Get the boss graphic eq pedal and do the hi-fi mods on either tonepad or ggg, or somewheres..it will be much more useful.

rant over....

p.s. : who was on Leno? I woulda watched

STAIND was on Leno with their new hit. And "staindbass" is Johnny the bass player. Rockin' the 5-banger Spector.

thanks markjazz, that' s pretty much what I was looking for.

I/WE could post "cracksmoker" ebay bass/gear ad's all day, all week, all year, and with that info, since my boy has a SP-1, maybe in the future now that I know what it is "worth" I may still borrow it

And, at any rate, Behringer makes a copy of it, that they sell for $30.
