Question MT66 AUDIO LOGIC COMORESSOR

Sign in to disble this ad
i;m desperate,I aquired an audio logic compressor. coming out of a mackie mixer, into ashley main EQ,then to the compressor.i have to crank the mixers outputs or the main volumn control to the EQ really high in order to get the compressor to show any LEDS.but!i can plug an ipod straight in and not cranking, and the compressor seems to do what it is suppose to do like there is nothing wrong with it,can anyone help?hate to get rid of it.it doesn;t seem to be bastardized. harry

Just based on what you described there, the problem would have to be with the Mackie or the Ashly, not the compressor. If it works fine with one signal and not the other, then the signals are the variable.

The only other thing I can think of is if one of the cables you're using to connect the Mackie and Ashly is bad.

all that has been looked at.we even put it on another system the board being the same.but a RANE main EQ. its the same result no matter what we do .it only works when it is interfaced directly.i use the 660 same company every weekend with absolutley no problem.same board same ashley EQ,I t works great.it has been gig tested as well bench tested. don;t know what to do .is there something i can try ?and of course audio logic won;t let yah down load a schematic. harry

OK, you say all that has been looked at, but if it works fine with iPod input then it works, right? It's not malfunctioning. Maybe if you are splitting the iPod to two unbalanced plugs, and running the Ashly into two balanced lines, maybe the comp only has unbalanced jacks? And maybe that means you're only getting 50% of the signal when plugging TRS plugs in there.

hmmm...ok ..as a strict rule ,i use all balanced connectors for noise factor.i will try it unballanced from the board to the eq then to the compressor.i will get back to yah on this.of course it would be helpful if i had the book.as i recall i do send both left and right from the ipod down to mono 1/4 inch connector.i will check that again thanx .ill let yah know
