SO!

They're not here yet, but I have a Bassballs, Disnortion, and EP-1 coming.

With my BMS I'm gonna have a great setup.

I would, however, appreciate some advice...

Although I can fit them all onto one tidy board, I also have a Line6 DL4 coming back to me, and would like to get a Octave, comp., analog delay, chorus/flanger, and preamp unit (tonehammer methinks)

When I gt the DL4 I'm going to have too much for one unit and was hoping to hear how either correct or incorrect I am when it comes to FX loops and stompboxes.

I was thinking...

If I go oct/fuzz.drive>bassballs>BMS>EP-1>Amp I know i'll be alright.

But with my fx loop:

balls>disnortion
>amp
>BMS>EP-1>DL4

I was wondering if i have should set my line level switch to +4 or -20?

The only pedal I believe to 'prefer' line level is the DL4, but I would presume more signal through anything would be juicier.

Just to refresh me, the level coming from a passive bass would be -20 and from my amp's pre would be +4??

So if I were to set my pre to -20 it would essentially have a similar gain structure to a stompbox?

I've been poking around researching gear and thinking about a versatile FX loop. With all the choices I'm looking for in my 'ideal' (nothing left to buy, nothing more to distract me) fx rig I'm probably going to wind up having a pre board and a post board.

So for now I think I'm okay...but for the not too distant future...

...am I at least on the right track?
