Which multi-effects board does this?

Sign in to disble this ad
I've searched this forum for an hour and can't find an answer.

I'm thinking I want a multi-effects board. Money not being a factor (within reason), I'm considering the two most recommended that I've seen:
The Line 6 Bass Pod Pro
The Boss GT-10B

Here's my dilemma, I've read somewhere that on the Line 6, even though you can stack 6 effects at once, you can only have one "stomp box" effect at a time (ie: chorus, envelope filter, flanger)

Is that true? Also, is the Boss GT-10B the same way?

Any other suggestions? I want good quality sounds - as good as you can get in a multi-board.

Thanks!

Fozz

Do you want amp modeling, effects, or both? If you don't want amp models the Line 6 M-13 should make you happy.

+1

I don't know much about the POD or the GT-10 except that they are a logical progression from their predecessors. The M13 allows for any of its effects to be placed in any order (up to four at a time) with an effects loop that can be placed in between any two effect modules and a looper that can be placed between any two effect modules. If you don't need amp tones, this is the baby.

I don't necessarily want amp modeling. Just want something to enhance the live sound through my amp, and something to help achieve decent sounds recording.

The M13 seems to be made for guitar. You guys have played bass through these ???

I believe a couple people here have experience with these, you could always search.

Most of the pedals owned around here are 'guitar' pedals, so why not use the M13? Most guitar stompboxes are fine with bass except a few (mainly distortions) that suck low end.

I don't own one, but I have used one a few times and it is plenty versatile for bass.

Here's a nice long thread about it.

I recommend the Boss GT-10B, it has a parallel effects chain, is arrangeable of all 15 effect block units in any order, and you can have all of then on at the same time.
The FX1 and FX2 blocks have identical effects so you can have 2 of everything like synths.
At the same time you can have either 4 EQ's, 3 delays, 3 Wahs, 3 compressors (one of them is a multi band), and so on..
And the Assigns make use of all the GT-10 adjustable parameters (750 of them) so you can controll up to 9 items from the press of one pedal.

Had mine since it was first released, and i am still blown away by the sound and versatility, currently i am trying out some Sansamp, SVT and Tube emulations.
