Multi Effects As a Place to Start

Sign in to disble this ad
I’ve almost always just played barefoot with a few exceptions. I had an old Mutron for a long time and used it on a few tunes over the years but sold it to some dude in Brazil a few years back when the price on those things got ridiculous.

Anyway, I’d like to get an inexpensive multi-effects unit that can do the envelope filter-Mutron sound along with a few other tricks. I’m thinking I might like getting into a few bass effects if for no other reason than to aggravate my guitar player.

Thanks.

Search for Zoom B2.
I like my B2 pretty well. The envelope filter and auto wah are fine, probably not the most versatile, but I like them. I really like the compressor and the tube preamp model. I also use the delay, the phaser and the fuzz. Most of the effects are pretty good. I've managed to find a voice with it that I'm pleased with.
You should give it a try.

Thanks Swift. I found a used B1 when I went to get some strings. I'm gonna fool around with it for a while and use it as a test platform to see what pedals I think I can use.

After reading posts for a while, it seems that single pedals are the way to go. I like the idea of a cheap ($45) multi as a way to figure out what I want in the way of pedals.
