Multi effects proccesser ?

Sign in to disble this ad
In my 30 yrs of playing I have never really run accross the need to use an effects unit. Other than a chorus on a couple of Yes songs...But I'm looking into maybe getting one. Like the Boss GT 6B...or something...I've read reviews on the GT6B and they are pretty good other than it's learning curve. This unit is a few years old, right? In short , is their a good multi effects unit for the big 4? Flange, chourus, overdrive, synth etc ?? I also don't want it to effect my SVT's sound when an effect is not engaged..... Thanks

Sterlings Rule - but moving forward

I had a GT-6B, a Zoom and several DigiTechs. They are fun but after a lot of trial and money down the drain I'll have to agree with many and suggest you go individual effects. The chorus is ok on the Boss, but the overdrive, flange, synth as well as compressor, reverb, etc. leave you wanting. I did like its wah.

I just had a BOSS ME 50B delivered and I'm in the process of tweaking it out now.

We all know how much effects are a personal thing. That being said:

Since I don't use a ton of compression but do like to spank it ever so slightly, so far I like the compression options, particularly the soft dbx 160 model.

I too like the wahs but still can't give up my DOD so it is staying on the pedal board. The envelope filters on the BOSS are not better or worse just different and I can see me using them here and there.

The chorus is not my pefect vision but better than the BOSS CE-3 I had before. Again, I use it rarely.

One effect I didn't think I would like is the phase shifter. Very cool IMO and very tweakable. Anyone else using that effect?

I have always dug the sansamp bass driver but not enough to
shell out. The model in the ME 50 is great.

Lot's of options here it seems.
