had a line 6 bass pod, sold it

have some korg one still in the box never use it

the guitard in one of my bands uses a zoom multi fx, its ok I guess

I prefer individual pedals since they are more modular

and each is engineered to be best at one thing only

you can definitely get some cool sound out of a multi, with lots of tweaking

I've been collecting, trying out used pedals, adapting my tone
and selling ones back I'm not using, at usually the same price

boiling it down,
I like pedals, they are more unique, hold value, and easy to resell

If you are looking at modeling pedals and not as interested in the amp/cab models, I would strongly suggest (and recommend) taking a close look at the Line 6 M9 and M13. Also, they both work with bass and guitar!

There are several threads on the forums about these.

Thanks for the answer...
I found it very helpfull and does that mean that i can use a bass multi effects on a guitar and viceversa?'

I think i will stick with a multi effects processor because i am just getting into effects and i want to start experimenting with different ones...

I have a Digitech BMX3 that was dirt cheap on Ebay - it's great fun and does just about everything, including modeling.

If you're just starting out in the efx thing a multi is a good place to start. The down side is the interface/control can be lacking, complicated or both, none are perfect and they all have their respective good and bad points and almost all the demo sounds are useless so you'll have to learn to create your own but that's more than half the fun.
Bass multis do sound best on bass and you may be able to get some passable guitar tones and visa versa.
Take the love and hate with a grain of salt, but i am a long time Zoom fan for the versatility and sound using a B2.1u live and a G1x on guitar and also an AdrenaLinn III and a Digitech BP8 for studio things.

I've owned and own lots of multi-effect processors made by Boss, Digitech, Zoom, Line 6 and Korg. The only two that I dearly love and use daily are an M13 and a Pandora (as a headphone practice amp).

I've owned a zoom b2.1u and a rocktron utopia b100. If you're wondering how they sound, I have sound samples of those multi-effects processors on my soundclick website. here's the link.

Feel free to check them out.

I use a guitar multiFX, the Digitech RP350, as muy current "bass pedalboard". If I had the moneys, I would buy some individual pedals, but even if I did that, I wouldn't stop using this multi (nice tuner, nice fuzz tones and whammy).

If you end buying a multifx, READ THE MANUAL: to get a nice sound from these, you have to reprogram them to your own taste.

Plus 1 on the Line 6 M9/M13. Just effects, no amp modelling, but

1) Great easy-to-use interface.
2) very customizable
3) amazing sounds that are not a pain to dial in, unlike many many other multieffects units

It's like having 3 or 4 stomps in front of you.
