Please do a search. This question has been asked at least once a week since the discovery of electricity.

Loads of threads about both of those, and many others.

If you got the money, don't forget to have a look at the Boss GT10B.

I just picked up a Boss ME-50B bass multiple effects pedal and I'm really happy with
it. It really has some solid effects, but it is something you have to try out and consider
how you are going to use the pedal. The reason I say this is because if you're a player
who goes from patch to patch within a song it may not meet your expectations. The
way the patches work is that there are three to a bank with ten banks, now in order to
switch banks you have use the small arrow buttons located on the unit, which means you have to use
your fingers. No pedal to switch from bank to bank on the unit but Boss does have pedals you can purchase that hook up to it.
