Ok so I tend to be more inclined toward seperate effects pedals but let's just say for the sake of discussion that you HAD to own a multi-effects unit, either floor unit or rack unit with midi-pedal. What units do you all feel have the best quality delays, reverbs, chorus, etc. I have no interest in modeling, eq, compression etc. Just looking for good quality sounds in a convenient package.
Thanks |

However, you can only have up to 1 modulation, 1 delay, and 1 reverb. The distortion models are iffy; a couple are pretty decent, one or two are fairly good, and the rest suck. The whammy model is also not real sweet. I got mine at L&M for $120 used though, so they're quite cheap. To get a more "bypassed" tone if you are using an amp model, set all 3 eq knobs at 10, since it's a passive eq system.

It's got a matrix-like organization to it, so you can mix and match many things like effects, delay, reverb, etc, then store it under any name you want. Not to mention, the effects sound great for the price ($150ish). I've stored all kinds of rad effects into the thing.
You can get some amazing sounds from this processor. |

I absolutely love the pedal, it is super sturdy and easy to use live. I've played around with a lot of the multis that have been released since, and they all come up lacking in some way. Plus, you can almost always find a BP-8 used on ebay for around $75, so even if you don't love it you probably won't take a loss on it.

I edited the post. It wasn't supposed to be as offensive as it came across I guess.
And....Just to make it clear that im not backing down, I just don't want to be offensive about it, IME Behringer is pretty low quality, just as the OP suggested. I have owned amps and effects and neither have given me much joy in regard to sound or build quality.

On the cheaper side, I use a Boss VF-1 rack unit and like it quite a lot....while it's older than the Boss GT-6B, I greatly prefer it (after owning both and A/Bing them). You can get them for under $200 on eBay, although you will need a MIDI controller of some kind. Michael Manring has used one as his sole effects unit on some tours- made me get one after seeing him use one live. |

Thanks | Digitech GNX4 here. And I've only scratched the surface of what this thing can do

I could maybe see using it live with a bypass looper (the foot-switches on it are impossible). If I ever join a band where I need to make a lot of weird noises that thing will have me set. It has some cool stuff I could never justify buying individual boxes for like auto volume swells and random step sequencing.
Best of all, it only cost me $5 |

The GN is a pricey pedal but it's easy to use and it keeps your sound intact. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
