Multi-Purpose Reverb??

Sign in to disble this ad
alright, im looking for a reverb pedal, but im kind of lost in a sea of springs, halls and plates. (im not too sure which particular setting/type is actually suitable for the sounds/genres im in to)

SO

i want a reverb that can handle resonant dub step kind of applications AND that would be useful for post rock stuff.

Hardwire RV-7? Dr. Scientist RRR? Boss RV-3?

Thanks guys

just a regular holy grail should be fine. the flerb would sound really sweet for dub kinda stuff.

I just bought one of the Malekko Spring Chickens. It is an amazing sound reverb pedal. It can sound like a subtle reverb. A full on spring. Or a ridiculous over the top amount. It also has an expression pedal jack, so you could change the amount on the fly. Plus it is pink and has a chicken on it.

I haven't tried many reverb pedals except for the EBS DynaVerb I own (which sounds good enough, but isn't "extreme" enough for my tastes). But, I have tried the fairly new one from HardWire, and don't see much use in looking further. It's a great sounding reverb - with an excellent reverse setting - that would certainly work very well for post rock applications. Will have to get me one of those soon...

On the reverb question - new-ish EHX holy grail for $80... worth it?

I would do the Holy Grail Plus over a regular Holy Grail as it has more blending options...

No Roland RE-20 Space Echo. Don't even consider it for reverb.

I own a Hardwire RV-7. The Lexicon algorithms sound great!

We need an RV-7 vs. Verbzilla shootout.

It's all about reverse vs. cave....
