MultiFX bass pedal with loop function?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm looking for a decent multiFX pedal (phase and envelop filters mandatory) with a phrase loop function. I'd like to spend <$120 but I'm interested in hearing all options. I'm having a hard time finding one that has a loop function. Thanks.

Do you mean a phrase looper or an effects loop?

gt-10b. it's probably gonna cost you a wee bit more ( around 500$ according to ebay...) you could of course buy the rc-20 loop station and flavor it with your favorite low budget multifx.

personally I only have the gt-10b and I'm happy with the loop section in there - same goes for the effects - but it's a pricy way to go. especially if you don't need all those effects.
only negative side I could find to this pedal is "grit" sound - you wont get a decent one out of this pedal - full blown distortion ? no problem. clean sounds ? all you ever could think off. synths ? depends how much you want to tinker - there's some basic patches that's ok for use as a base for your own sound.
the way I see it. the GT-10B is the last multieffect pedal you'd need. it does all that and then some. comparing it to analog pedals isn't fair imo.

Line 6 M9 is $400
How long of a loop do you need? The Zoom B2 (<$100)will do 5 seconds but you'll need an external footswitch for the hold function.

I want to throw down some changes and practice soloing over them. <10 seconds will work.

I think the venerable Korg Pandora has a phrase looper/trainer function. If it's just for practice, the Pandora is a fantastic value tool.

I know it's out of your ideal price range but you won't be disappointed with a Line 6 M9. Pure awesome!

Hey, if you're looking for a light "gritty" sound from your GT-10B, try blending in (with the channel select in dual mode) one of the guitar amps - I use the "crunch" preamp. Sounds cool if you just blend the right amount in.

To the OP - not sure about the lower priced versions of the Boss multi's - ME-50B (you should be able to track one down still) and 20B...but worth looking into to see of they have a loop function. If you don't want to spend the bucks for the GT-10B...

+1 - I'm thinking of putting my Boomerang III on the market. This looper is VERY easy to use. The M9 rocks.

Check out the new Boss ME-25, it's actually a guitar pedal, but for a buget range pedal it does everything, including the 40 second phrase looper, plus USB for recording.

thanks for the info - never thought of that as for the me20/50b I can tell you for certain they don't have loop function. I owned a me20B and know for a fact that the me50b doesn't have it.
