Muse effects set up. (Especially with GT6b)

Hi all,
I just sorted myself out with the (apparently) mighty Boss GT6B multi effects. Havent set it up yet, let alone got my head round it all, but was wondering if any of you kind bass players out there knew the settings for certain songs that I'm gonna be covering. These include:-

Muse - Plug in Baby, and Time is running out.

Plus any good settings for general bass play, and some for punchy plectrum playing.
Any help would be most appreciated.
Cheers

Don't know much but...

But if you go to muse's site there is a menu called instruments and by clicking on the stage (at chris's feets) you'll see that he uses a roland-pk5 and probably a midi synthesiser which i don't know. I'm really interested in this kind of midi stuff which might open ways to new sounds. If you got more info. just post it.

Thanks

He uses a big muff (russian) for fuzz...
Actually, if you click here you'll see all his gear... The special sound he uses in Time is running out is probably made by the Akai Deep Impact Synth.

Anyway... I tried to find that sound on a Boss GT-6B. By using the "OD" (Boss ODB-3) in the overdrive/distortion you can get close. Also, I added compression.

As far as I could see, the synth and the octaver on the GT-6B didn't make the sound get any closer. But it's probably possible to make them better than I did.

ur gt6 will have a setting called "muff fuzz" this is their emulation of the big muff pi. for practice purposes this, combined with some overdrive, will get you pretty close to the sounds chris uses live.

there have been quite a few threads on attaining the tiro sound in which i have given the same advice. turn the decay rate on your bass synth up to max to get that sustained distorted sound. your gt6 will have synth patches but they might not be any good for it.

for plug in baby you will need a bass synth also, unfortunately i cannot tell you patch settings because ive never tried to emulate them.

time is running out i think was recorded on a keyboard but live a lot of people seem to think he uses the deep impact. i wouldnt know ive never tried one.

however using the guyatone tz-2 the fuzz i can get both sounds with the depth cranked full. so if you want a cheap option id recomend this definetly. in pib album version he also uses an envelope filter and an octaver, good cheap options would be dod fx25b and maybe bass oc-2/3. but by just using the tz-2 it still sounds great.

Is there seriously no one on talk bass that has patch settings for muse songs using the GT-6B?
