Experiment much with fuzz and sub-octave effects. You'll get there.

I don't have a GT-10B, but I would suggest a patch with an octave down and a fuzz.

i have a good patch that uses the "HiBand Drive"
drive = 38
tone = 35
bottom level = 5
effect = 42
direct = 39

and i have Assigned the octave to the EXP1 Pedal, so you can mix in the amount of -12 pitch shift (- 1 octave) as required.

Try the easy tone option. Get your basic tone, and then use the easy tone option to polish it.

To me, it sounds like a muff with a clean blend and some eq, maybe some compression.

Just read your post.

I' ve got a GR-10B, ok for MUZZ FUZZ settings but I don't think you really assigned Octafe effect of your patch to the EXP PEDAL, you simply used the "Pedal Bend" setting (named "-1 octave") of the EXP PEDAL, that's not the real "Octave", is it ?

Because, I know it's posible to assign the EXP PEDAL to dynamically change an effect parameter, but it's quite confusing for me, I miss something...

I know there's a system setting, "Prefernc" to set to "Patch" (SYSTEM MENU | CONTROLLER), and the next one set to "Patch level" (right?). Then, for every patch, you can assign the EXP PEDAL to change an effect parameter (in MASTR/PEDAL FX or ASSIGN).

Not working, obviously...I can only chose WAH, pedal volume, pedal bend, or a combo of them...

In ASSIGN, you think you can do that right away because you can chose a setting to specify an effect parameter and anothern the "pedal" that controls that setting. In our case, the EXP pedal.

Still not working..I obviously miss something...

Any idea would be most welcome.

Working !

The effect has to be ON in order to be able to control its parameter with the EXP pedal !...

=> use of the EXP pedal switch to activate the effect concerned...

Oh and, in assign 1-8, chose "Moment", not "Toggle".

Hope it helps...

My settings :

SYSTEM | CONTROLLER, tab EXP1 PEDAL SETTING (tab 2) :
===================== "Patch"
===================== Off

SYSTEM | CONTROLLER, tab EXP PEDAL SW SETTING (tab 3) :
===================== "Patch"
===================== Off

MASTER/PEDAL FX | PEDAL FX | "PDL:CTL/EXP" (each patch its setup):
EXP1 : Off
EXP SW : OD/DS

MASTER/PEDAL FX | ASSIGN | tab 1 (or any other, it doen't matter*) :
===================== Target : OD/DS
===================== DRIVE (in my case... I want to change that setting with the EXP Pedal)
===================== Min : 0
===================== Max : 100
===================== Source : EXP1 PEDAL
===================== Src Mode : Moment
===================== ActRngLo : 0
===================== ActRngHi : 127 (all the pedal range)

*8 tabs because you can assign 8 different pedals : CTL1, CTL2, EXP PEDAL, external pedals (CTL3, CTL4, second EXP PEDAL) and, actually, even MDI commands...)

WARNING : you MUST activate each tab setup by pressing MASTER/PEDAL FX !!! => see "12345678" below, each activated tab will highlight the matching tab number...

I'm not sure if you have to WRITE and save your settings for it to work...

Hope it helps...

I don't know all the settings, but you would need three settings for this song...

1: Boss OC-2 into Russian Big Muff
2: Russian Big Muff
3: Clean

I use an Assign so the Target = FX1 OCT Effect Level. So the EXP pedal changes the effect mix/level of the Octave effect to blend it in.

Have you tried the patch editor software in my sig below. It gives a graphical representation of all the GT-10B settings, making tweaking a lot easier.
