musician's gear pedal board

i'm thinking of buying this pedal board

does anyone have any experience with it? this is my first pedal board experience and I'm trying to go cheap right now. I was thinking of getting a 1 spot and a cheaper pedal board, but this seems to make good sense too.

Check the ratings on Musicians Friend. I believe their rating of this is a lot lower and it may give you some more insight.

I have one.

In the home studio, it's fine. Build quality isn't too amazing so I wouldn't expect it to survive much gigging. However it's very simple so you could probably reinforce it cheaply if needed.

edit: I actually got mine from eBay for a few $ less and spent the difference on a 1-spot as the adapter that comes with the board doesn't have much grunt to it.

Many times, if you go cheap, you get cheap. This is not always the case...

I would get a SKB or Furman before getting that board. In a perfect situation, a pedaltrain and PP2 would be great, but the 1st 2 I mentioned will get you by, plus each one has spaces for wall-wart power...can't go (too) wrong w/ that.

I just ordered one of the pedalboards from rondo music. They're 35 bucks and they lock etc. I'm going to GC to get a one spot today. Problem solved.

I'm not trying to get too deep into it right now. One day i'll blow the money on a nice pedal board and power source, but not today. I still need to get more than 2 effects first... What i'm getting should suffice for now. I'm not gigging at the current moment, so i'm not super worried about it.

ps the walking delay came in today.

I had one of the Rondo boards. They're ok as long as you don't do a lot of rearranging, otherwise you'll tear up the velcro, so keep that in mind.

Also, you'll probably be getting a voodoo lab power down the road.

Why voodoo lab power?

Ps I got the one spot at gc today and the sales guy asked me if I only wanted one. I gave him a face and then he said "oh I guess that's the point" haha

The voodoo lab gives each pedal clean, isolated power. Meaning, no hum, your pedals are safe via a fuse, and everything is working at 100%. If you have more than 5 pedals, this is necessary.

It may be desireable, but it's not really necessary. A One-spot will, based on the pedals, run 8 pedals fine. In fact, the One-spot daisy chain adapter has 8 plugs.

I just bought a 1 spot today to keep me around until I get a pp2.

It is a temporary solution. If you have that many pedals you want to invest more money and get something that you know will work.

This is my problem - I have one of the monster Rondo boards (folks keep assuming that it's a guitar case), and have rearranged things a couple of times. I'm thinking that I might have to take up the velcro and lay some new industrial-grade stuff down.

That said, it's tough to complain considering the price!

One pedal can screw it all up if the conditions are right. I've had many customers have hum problems (more guitar oriented ime) and then get the voodoo lab and come back delighted. It's necessary when you want a neat setup, have more than 5 pedals, and want no hum. I'm not saying a 1spot doesn't work, it's just a better way.

but anyways, if you only have two pedals- you'll be fine....until Voodoo Lab comes out with the ISO5

i own one, it's okay. it's works fine, i only have 4 pedals. no problems with hum or noise, but i don't like the soft cover bag, if you are doing alot of gigging i would look elsewhere

also i hate the way the adapter pugs in , it stands up vertical and could easily get stepped on. maybe a used peadlboard off CL or EvilBAY for that price

piece of scrap wood + can of cheap black spray paint + velcro + and some duct tape along the edges to prevent splinters = pedal board.

and i use a 1 spot to power 6 pedals and two wirelesses.

FTW!!!
